Incremental modernization

Explore stressor-linked pathways, assays, and chemicals in one place.

The sAOP (stressor AOP) server is a resource for annotated AOPs (adverse outcome pathways) connected to toxic compounds from ToxCast. It is a compilation of more than 6000 chemical compounds annotated to the assay endpoints used for their detection, as well as more than 200 AOPs.

sAOP aids in the assessment of toxic and adverse events, and side effects. By integrating a dataset containing annotated bioassays for chemical risk assessment (drugs and environmental chemicals) and the OECD-approved AOPs, this tool assists researchers in identifying toxic compounds related to specific AOPs, assays for validating toxic events, and previously described adverse outcome pathways.

Institutional context

Section for Health Data Science and AI, KU

The work is now led by the Section for Health Data Science and AI at the Department of Public Health at the University of Copenhagen (KU).

It remains rooted in the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (NNF CPR), continuing the original scientific context of the platform.

Funding context

RISK-HUNT3R and Horizon 2020

The project is part of RISK-HUNT3R and the ASPIS cluster, supported by the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme under Grant Agreement No. 964537.
